What it costs to build software in Medellín

Building software in Medellín does not have a single figure, because a presentation page, a multi-section site and an application with users are not the same job. At Krats.tech the references are in euros so an SME can place itself before the first conversation. A usable MVP of one main flow starts at €500, and that amount is deducted if the project continues. A custom landing is €1,500. A corporate site, with more pages and up to six languages when they are needed, is €2,500. A web application with a panel, its own rules and data starts at €4,500. Monthly support, if you ask for it afterwards, is €150 and has no lock-in. Those numbers orient you: the contract comes after the scope is written down.

What each reference covers

The €500 MVP tests one flow, not the whole system. It can be creating an order, a contact screen that really sends the message, or the smallest stock movement. It shows whether the team would use it. The €1,500 landing is a presentation page: who you are, what you offer, where you serve in Medellín and how people write to you. The €2,500 site adds sections and, if the business needs them, several languages with their own URL per culture. The web application from €4,500 starts when there are users, permissions and data that do not fit on a public page: orders, inventory, customers or bookings.

What the published number leaves out

The published price does not include a redesign halfway through, integrations that were not in the scope, or a second product disguised as a tweak. A landing does not bring a cart or an inventory panel. A corporate site does not bring application logic. If the business later takes orders on the same base, that step is quoted separately and does not force you to throw away what is already live. The domain, the hosting and the main accounts should be in your name from the start, so the shop does not depend on the studio in order to exist on the internet.

The scope written for a business in the city, with the same figures, is gathered in the development hub for Medellín. There you can see the €500 first step and how to commission the work without knowing how to program.

What moves a local budget

In a Medellín business the budget moves with the operation, not with the neighbourhood. It grows if there is more than one site, if the counter uses a printer or a scanner, if management wants to see the day from somewhere else, or if the order currently lives only in chat. Starting with a single flow, instead of asking for the complete system on day one, removes uncertainty. Extra roles, offline work and online payments that were not planned are the points that change the figure most. That is why the scope is written before coding: an ambiguous sentence in the first meeting becomes screens nobody asked for.

Milestones, euros and how you pay

We do not ask for one hundred percent up front. Milestones are usually split near 40, 30 and 30 percent, and each one matches a visible slice. The public list stays in euros so the number is comparable from one month to the next. Payment can go through PayPal, Wise, Mercado Pago, bank transfer or USDT. Mercado Pago is a method, not a second price list in pesos. This guide does not convert the references into COP: the day's exchange rate is not a studio price.

The breakdown of each band, with what is included and what is not, is on the pricing page. The reference does not change currency depending on who opens the page.

Code, fixes and support

The code belongs to the client when the payments are complete. There are thirty days to fix defects in what was delivered. That window covers faults in the agreed scope, not a new module or a rebrand. Afterwards, support at €150 a month is optional and can be stopped. It covers help with the delivered system, not an unlimited bag of features. If the shop only needed a presence, you do not have to hire support just to have someone around. If the panel already runs the day, support stops every small question from turning into a project.

When the €500 MVP is the right start

It fits when the doubt is the flow, not the visual identity. A restaurant that does not know whether the order should start at the counter or on the phone should not open with the full application. A practice that only needs to be found and written to can stay with the €1,500 landing. The MVP is deducted if you continue, so it is not a separate invoice that disappears. If you do not continue, you keep that usable flow, not a diagnosis document.

When the flow is already clear, the next step is to ask for a quote and say what the shop does today: who uses the screen, what must not fail and what can wait.

What to tell us so the figure gets sharper

A good first note fits in a few paragraphs. What the business sells or which service it provides in Medellín. How many people touch the process on a normal day. Where it gets stuck: the chat, the notebook, a sheet nobody updates. Whether there is already a domain or a mailbox in the company's name. Whether the first result you want to see is a page, an order or a stock movement. With that we propose a band — €500, €1,500, €2,500 or from €4,500 — or we say clearly that the scope sits above that and should be split into milestones. You do not need to arrive with a technical diagram.

Short questions

Is €4,500 the ceiling for an application?

No. It is the starting point of a web application with business logic. The ceiling is the scope you write down, not a hidden rate.

Is the Medellín price different from other cities?

We do not publish a different list per city. The euro references are the same. What changes is the shop's scope, not the postcode.

Can I pay from Colombia?

Yes. Mercado Pago, bank transfer and the other published methods can move the payment. The reference for the work stays in euros.
